So What Goes into your vehicle being Detailed? Great question! The basic steps for a full detailing are listed below for your knowledge and convenience!

Exterior Detailing
Pressure Wash (Power Wash): So, what’s the first step in the auto detailing process? Pressure Washing! Pressure washing is the removal of contaminants from the outside of your vehicle, such as pollen, dirt, and grime, via the use of a stream of pressurized demineralized water that is powered by a motor. We take great lengths to reach all of the nooks and cracks on the exterior of your car, truck, or RV and thoroughly pressure wash those areas since that is where most debris collects. Special detail and care is given to areas where there is noticeable flaking or chipping of the outer paint of the vehicle so that further damage to those areas is extremely minimized. After getting your vehicle diligently pressure washed by our mobile detailers, your car will already be on the right path to achieving that showroom quality it deserves! We're THE best mobile car wash Yuma AZ has ever seen!

Degreaser Rinse: If there are any hard or dried contaminants such as bird droppings, dirt, or tar on the exterior of the vehicle, a degreaser may be used to break up and loosen these either before or after a power wash is applied. Degreasers though can remove protective coatings of sealants or wax, so this will only be used with discretion. If needed, it is imperative to reapply any wax or sealants that were removed by the degreaser.

Shampooing:
To ensure that any remaining dirt or other contaminants are removed, a thorough shampooing is needed. There are two methods when it comes to shampooing a vehicle: using a foam gun or the two-bucket method. A foam gun sprays a stream of foam over every inch of the exterior of the car, truck, or RV. The two-bucket method on the other hand requires a wash and rinse bucket combined with hand washing using towels, sponges, or mitts to clean the entire vehicle. If either method is used, a second pressure wash is used to remove the remaining contaminants and soap.

Drying:
One of the most important steps during the entire exterior detailing process of a vehicle is the drying process: this is where the most damaging mistakes can occur such as swirls, webs, and water marks. To avoid these harmful errors, a sheeting method is used, which is when a constant stream of demineralized water collects excess droplets and washes them from the exterior surface of the vehicle's paint. A blower is then needed to reduce dripping in areas such as lug nuts, glass, mirrors, and panel gaps, which can lead to complications in further steps. A drying towel is then used to dry any remaining water on the vehicle. If you're even in the Palmdale area, check out our pals who provide the best quality mobile car detailing Palmdale has!

Claying: After the first layer of major contaminants is removed, micro contaminants such as small minerals and fine dirt that are lodged in the paint of your car, truck, or RV are still present. A clay bar is used to remove these. Exhaustive detail will be given to clay your vehicle in major areas where such contaminants commonly persist. Plenty of clay and lubricant will be applied so as to also prevent any scratches from occurring during the claying process.

Polishing: This is the step that makes everyone's head turn. The polishing step. Any imperfections such as swirls, oxidation, swirls, and water spots in your vehicle's clear coat of paint are polished away. Depending on what your vehicle specifically needs, a special polish and buffer is chosen so that your vehicle can shine and be as radiant as if it had just come off the lot!

Sealant: to protect the exterior paint of your vehicle, a sealant is applied which protects against the elements after your detailing from up to 3 to 6 months. The sealant adheres to the paint of the vehicle and forms a solid barrier against any debris that wants to embed into your car, truck, or RV’s paint. Thus it is easier to maintain your vehicle. It also enhances your vehicles detail by adding more depth and glass to your vehicles paint.

Waxing: To give your vehicle's exterior paint more durability, a good waxing is recommended but will only last 6 to 8 weeks. Waxing beads up water so that water cannot pool and stagnate on top of your vehicle, thus reducing any water marks on the paint. It also feels great to the touch and gives your car, truck, or RV that smooth and silky feeling! If water starts pooling on your vehicle, that’s an indicator it’s time for a new application of wax.

Wheel and Tire: NOBODY likes seeing tires that are completely covered in grime and brake dust. That is why Wheel and Tire care is ESSENTIAL to the overall appearance of your vehicle. The tires themselves will be given a generous amount of degreaser then given a thorough water and shampooing to remove a majority of contaminants present. The inner wheel components are also given a thorough washing and shampooing, and then receive a clay bar treatment along with any necessary sealants or wax. Tire dressing is applied last so as to give the tires their original dark, unused color!

Exterior Trim Care: Being one of the most overlooked parts of your vehicle when it comes to maintenance, the exterior trim is vital for any full detailing service. After the routine pressure wash, shampoo, and drying plus degreasing to remove old waxes and sealants, a rich amount of dressing is applied so as to re-establish the showroom quality of the trim to its richer and dark color giving your trim excellent contrast to your vehicle’s paint!

Window Cleaning: Windows can have the most obvious and glaring obstructions on them such as bird droppings, skin oils, smoke residue, and general excess condensation build up. Without much needing being said, having your windows extensively detailed is imperative for a better and safer driving experience. Most contaminants are removed in the general cleaning steps, but further steps are needed in particular of the windows. An ammonium free glass cleaner is applied to dispose of excess gunk, and then the window is clayed to remove any fine particles still left. Finally another cleanse of glass cleaner is applied with a thin layer of wax for extra protection.

Interior Detailing
The importance of detailing your interior! The inside of your vehicle can say 1,000 words to any passenger who sits inside of it about who the owner of the vehicle is. What are the biggest factors anyone looks for when first stepping into someone else’s car? Cleanliness, smell, and maintenance. Both you and your passengers deserve to enjoy the appearance, feel, and comfort of your vehicle inside and out. As being one of the best mobile detailers in Yuma, AZ, we take just as much pride in detailing the interior as we do the exterior of your vehicle, and provide Yuma residents the best mobile detailing services around!

Carpet Cleaning: Your vehicle’s carpet takes the biggest beating out of anything on the inside, with constant dirt build up and stains. We do a complete vacuuming of your carpets, once they are removed from the vehicle, so as to take out all of the major impurities. A fabric cleaner is then applied and scrubbed in to the carpet so as to remove any stains present.

Seat Cleaning: Seat care is a must, since it is the first thing your passenger notices. If your seats have leather, a leather cleaner is used to surface any impurities present, and then to soften the leather a conditioner is applied so as to keep it malleable and prevent it from drying out.

Interior Trim: Your interior trim such as your dashboard, doors, side panels, and console, is usually pretty neglected over the years, so it is a good idea to get it detailed for general maintenance purposes. A simpler protectant and cleaner is used to restore the vibrancy of your interior trim and remove any food or dust present.

Ceramic Coating

What is Ceramic Coating?

Ceramic Coating is a  hand applied polymer that chemically bonds to the exterior paint or interior of your vehicle. It provides longer and more durable protection against the elements than traditional waxing: it takes much longer to wash away, and can last years while waxing only last a few months. In essence, ceramic coating reduces maintenance costs on your vehicle in the longer term and saves you more money than a regular wax.  It also protects your car, truck, or suv with UV protection and reducing oxidation of your car's paint.

Paint Correction

What is Paint Correction?
Paint Correction is one of those terms that is thrown around everywhere in the car detailing industry. It's usually associated with removing minor defects such as water marks and swirls from the clear coat of the vehicle; here at Erick's Mobile Wash, that is part of our usual detailing process. What we mean by paint correction is when the paint or bare metal of the vehicle is exposed, which can occur during severe damage from keying or other sharp object striking the vehicle. To correct these damaged areas, several different types of sand paper grit is applied to the affected area AND surrounding areas so that the primers, paint, and clear coat, can stick to the vehicle and allow for blending of the newly applied paint to the original paint color. Once the affected area is sanded, layers of primer are applied which allow the paint to stick and be smooth. Once the primer dries, a layer of paint is applied that closely matches your vehicles unique color. Once the paint dries, layers or clear coat are applied. During these steps minor sanding is also needed for more adhesion of the layers. The final step is blending of the newly applied paint to the old paint that borders the affected area. Most of our knowledge on paint correction was actually provided by our good car detailing friends at Car Detailing in Townsville QLD, so feel free to check out their site for more great info on car detailing!
